1. Can you describe your role at the company and how long you’ve been working here?

I am a Mechanic class A, and I have been working for kmG for eight years.

2. What does a typical day look like for you?

Felix Ramirez teaching his colleague Alberto Niola engine repairs.

Normally when I come in, I check my toolbox where I usually find work orders with notes listing my assigned workfor the day. The work I get assigned is usually big projects that need more attention and get assigned to me because I am the only class A mechanic. When I work on my project, I focus on making sure all the truck repairs get done in a timely manner. Once I am done with my assigned projects, I help the other mechanics with anything they need.

3. What are the most rewarding aspects of your job?

The satisfaction of doing a job well done, being good at what I do as well as correcting and solving problems in any truck from the newest to the oldest to make sure all trucks keep the business going.

4. How has working in this industry changed your perspective on waste and recycling?

I have realized the importance of recycling during my time working at kmG. At the shop we work in both Rec and trash trucks, and we can definitely tell when a recycling truck had contamination. I practice recycling at my house to be part of the few that help our planet.

5. What’s your favorite memory or moment from your time with the company?

All the moments shared with my colleagues, and all the moments in which I have helped them grow

6. Do you have a personal motto or philosophy that guides your work?

Always be willing to learn and do your best to improve every day.

7. What hobbies do you have outside of work?

I work on my personal projects and watch programs that teach new skills.
