How kmG Hauling Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Across the DMV, families, businesses, and community partners use this time to raise awareness, support those affected, and encourage early detection. At kmG Hauling, this cause is close to our heart. Our pink awareness trucks are more than vehicles. They are daily reminders that every mile can carry a message of hope, strength, and action.

Our Pink Trucks: Awareness on Wheels

In creating our first awareness campaign, we painted our trucks bright pink to bring awareness to breast cancer. We were not sure how people would react to seeing a bright pink truck driving down the street, but we were met with an overwhelming amount of positive support. When these trucks travel through neighborhoods, they do more than collect waste. They bring visibility to an issue that touches many families, and they start conversations that can lead to life saving action.

More Than One Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month gives us a moment to focus, but our commitment does not end on October 31. The pink trucks remain in service year round. They keep the message present in everyday life, not just during a single campaign. This is part of our kmG Cares promise. Our role in the community is about service and about using our platform to support causes that matter.

National Mammography Day

Each October we highlight National Mammography Day, which falls on the third Friday of the month. If you have been postponing an appointment, consider this a friendly reminder to schedule a screening or encourage someone you love to do the same. Early detection can save lives.

How You Can Get Involved

Awareness matters most when it leads to action. Here are simple ways to participate this month and beyond:

  • Schedule your mammogram or remind a friend or family member to schedule theirs.
  • Wear pink during October and share a photo with one of our awareness trucks. Tag @kmGHauling to help spread the word.
  • Share accurate educational resources from trusted health organizations.
  • Support local groups that provide screenings, research funding, or patient support.
  • Invite your workplace, school, or property to host a pink day or awareness event.

Thank You, DMV

We are grateful for the customers, partners, and neighbors who help carry this message forward. With your help, our fleet can keep turning miles into awareness and awareness into action.
